way better than...

Way better than...fashion week?

You know how all those blogs show those really deep pictures from fashion week? The one's where I swear they are purposely trying to make me jealous because they are "exclusively" best friends with Marc (as in Jacobs) and I'm not.

Don't worry, I'm about to do the same thing. But better. Something that you and your yoga obsessed, run that "extra mile" athlete mentality will appreciate.

Welcome to the Nike Campus.

Somehow, someway, I got myself in there, snapped these pics, and I'm about to show you my version of a "fashion week" post.

{Nike time capsule, to be opened next year}

{Nike entrance}

{The glamorous pool}

{the "campus"}

{some of the "classics"}

{the Nike swim team, how cute!}

Ps: Like any quality institution (cough cough this blog) there were quotes. My favorite...

"Any time you think you have the game conquered, the game will turn around and punch you right in the nose."

-Mike Schmidt

Tiburon.

Some people like to swim in pools, others like to swim with dolphins, but me, I prefer to swim with the sharks, because if I get bitten, at least I can get out of that paper due tomorrow.

I'm kidding. About the bitten part. The shark part, still questionable.

But I like to swim. Anywhere (ftmp: for the most part). So when the chance came to swim near the Golden Gate Bridge, I jumped on it (the opportunity, not the bridge). I'm glad I did. It's always good to try something at least once: this weekend, it was some open water swimming.

THE TIBURON MILE.

The whole running into the bay at the shot of a gun, tackling people, and finding your way back is a little too animalistic for me (think Lord of the Flies) but I won't count it out for good.

Also, the whole "mile" part is a little much (I like sprints!) Not gonna lie, the A.D.D. kicked in half way, I almost stopped a random swimmer so we could chat, admire the bridge,...then I remembered I was cold and should probably aim to get out ASAP.

{the crew...minus the guys.}

And lastly, this picture is probably not an accurate depiction, but it sure felt like that. Everyone...and then me and the guy who kept attacking my leg...off in the distance. I was aiming for the "yellow house," not the suggested blue one, it was prettier, ok.

if you wanna partake in this shindig of good fun, good food, and a good cause, go here

k. i'm going to go swim now. ttyl.
